about
Avery is a multi-media three-dimensional artist. Through her studies in ceramics, glass blowing, paper making, performance, and video arts she has explored the development of individuality within the varying forms of structures – physical, familial, and societal- that have created the means and defined the ways that we live in our world today. Always enjoying the process of making things, Avery began seriously studying two-dimensional art early on. Living in a world more attuned to object than image, she turned her instinctual collecting of things into painted collages featuring found objects coming off the page. This fueled her to go to an art school that respected many mediums – most importantly sculpture. Alfred University encouraged her study of the connections between people and society through multiple mediums. These concepts have dominated her work in exhibitions throughout Westchester, Connecticut, and New York City. |
