WEARABLE SCULPTURE ~ Bring a little art with you everywhere you go!
I've been making jewelry for as long as I can remember. My aunt, a polymer clay artist, gave me my first beading box filled with her handmade beads. My collection of beads has grown from this one box to a whole studio filled with beads from around the world. Jewelry was always a hobby. It was only after graduating from Alfred University with a sculpture degree, that I began to take jewelry making a bit more seriously. I began viewing my jewelry not just as earrings or necklaces, but as mini wearable sculptures. I use not only beads, but other objects I would normally use in my fine art making practice. This brings artwork out of the gallery and into everyday places!
