Our society holds great influence over our lives. Delivered through culture, politics, and our families, this influence creates a uniform society that allows us to live comfortable, secure, and safe lives. The constraints of this structure also create tension. Structure is created from a multitude of voices which push and pull in differing directions. Our individual experiences, hopes, and dreams may pull us away from this structure to pursue our own paths. Through the use of fiber, found materials, sculpture, and collage, the development of individuality within the varying structures that define our lives is explored.
